Evolution, Charles Lyell

2.Charles Lyell  was able to describe his concept of geology through many books that he had publishe. Lyell had found that various rock strata in earth's surface had contained extinct Moluccan species. The species being extinct by now although he had developed a doctrine that was the gradual extinction of those species but ten the creation of new species.
3.Lyells findings in the earth is a positive contribution to Darwin's findings. It helps Darwin's idea or hypothesis become more real of evolution. Darwin's original book was what helped Lyell later on publish or develop hi book. Without Darwin Lyell would not have been able to complete his findings.
4. I do not believe Darwin could have developed his ideas without Lyell. They both helped each other mainly because without Darwin Lyell would not have been able to further his idea and without Lyell Darwin's idea would not have been so real. They both contributed to the idea of evolution in multiple ways and they helped each other.
5.the church believed that Darwin's ideas were giving them doubts on god. He later published his book mainly because his discoveries needed to be known he was not the only scientists that was discovering these things. The actions may be true about god and his special acts but no one will ever truly know that. He claimed that e had written nothin that could shake the faith of a real Christian believer.

  1. Think of these assignments as papers or essays and don't be afraid to expand and provide more extensive explanations for your arguments. Some of your thoughts here needed clarification.

Lyell's work involved making sense of the fossil record but his conclusions went beyond fossils. Can you rethink this and offer a more general contribution by Lyell to Darwin's work? This ties in with figuring out which bullet point applies to Lyell's contribution.

I'm a bit puzzled by your contention that Lyell wouldn't have published without Darwin, as it was Lyell's work in the first place that inspired Darwin.

Darwin didn't make any claims regarding God in his books. It was the fact that his work challenged the belief system of the church, in terms of the origin of living things, where Darwin feared repercussions from publishing.

A question: Why did you use a religious site as a source instead of a scientific source? Since this is a science class, I suggest you stick with science sites for your information for future assignments.

  2. I like how you expanded the concept from Darwin's evolution to him being contradicted in the church. I am just a little worried that you posted the web site from a church site instead of a scientific or information article. That could be alittle misleading on the information you may find and be bias against the theory of evolution. I did like however how you tied Charles Lyell and Darwin's findings together and how they contributed to one another. Good job on your blog.

  3. Dr Rodriguez, I had used two sites, the other one must of been accidentally erased when I was posting the blog. In which that website was a scientific one. Lyell contributed to evolution because he mainly tried to prove that geological processes had been done by natural events over time. And my main point about the church was that he changed there beliefs and made them question them.and Darwin would not have been able to complete his work without the work of Lyell.
